Year-end reflections 1
Think about where you are going
Image designed by me, generated by Chatgpt. I like this image even though it has seven rather than five paths (which is the theme of the reading). I have now learned that AI sometimes can’t distinguish between numbers of objects. I could get seven paths, or three, but not five. So be it. I deem the extra two paths to be mystery-paths… waiting to be discovered by the adventurous and open-minded.
As the year draws to a close, it is good to take stock of where I’ve been and where I am going.
Fast away the old year passes,
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
Sing we joyous, all together,
Heedless of the wind and weather. “Deck the Halls”
Today I share an amazing reading of a truly thought-provoking speech, originally given by Edith Sampson in a convocation speech.
Edith Sampson (1901-1979) was an American lawyer, diplomat and civil rights advocate known for being the first African-American to officially represent the United States at the United Nations, appointed in 1950. She was also the first African-American U.S. delegate to NATO. wikipedia
The Irish actor Andrew Scott gives a charismatic reading of this speech. The text of the speech (in Path Five) speaks of a theme I’ve often explored in my posts: independent thought, taking responsibility for one’s opinions. Enjoy this and consider how it applies to you.

Intentional choice (of one thing) seems to be a theme of late and this aligns. Thanks and wishing you a happy new year.
Beautiful imagery that really is life at any given moment several paths in front of us.
